There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino gaming is not allowed. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime spot, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel compound that contains many conveniences aside from the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 table games.
